Merlin's African Dwarf Clawed Frog

kept by Martin Truckenbrodt - Martin

Kriton Kunz and Noemío Sousa both got 30 Pseudhymenochirus merlini from region of Bambadinca in Guinea Bissau in autumn 2004. Kriton shared his frogs with Manfred Beier and me.
After only some days of keeping these West African frogs we could say that they are much durably than Hymenochirus. But they are much better in climbing out of tanks too. So I lost some frogs.
In the middle of 2005 I got nine frogs again from Guinea Bissau. I lost some frogs by security holes then I kept them in my smaller paludarium. At the moment (June 2006) I am keeping 2.6 frogs in this tank again after removing the security holes.
In future I want to keep 2.2 of them in a 45 litre or a 54 litre tank to breed them frequently.
In summer 2006 I bred them the first time.
In 2006 Kriton Kunz has published a first article about these frogs.
