The ADCF species

The subspecies of Hymenochirus boettgeri

  1. Hymenochirus boettgeri boettgeri (TORNIER 1896), Boettger's African Dwarf Clawed Frog
  2. Hymenochirus boettgeri camerunensis PERRET & MERTENS 1958, Cameroon African Dwarf Clawed Frogs
  3. Hymenochirus boettgeri feae (BOULENGER 1905), Gaboon African Dwarf Clawed Frog

H. boettgeri feae is not descripted very detaild by BOULENGER.

PERRET & MERTENS 1958 making Hymenochirus feae a subspecies of H. boettgeri. A lot of following authoers are using him for a own species again.

Remarks of Martin Truckenbrodt:
In my opinion there are a lot of unknwon subspecies and species of Hymenochirus, too. I imagine that H. boettgeri camerunensis is a own species. But to clear all the open questions about the systematics of the genus Hymenochirus we need need new and more wildcaught frogs from the knwon discovery sites and new locations.
